Everglades City, FL

Everglades City is a town on what is technically an island in southwestern Florida. The island is at the mouth of the Barron river as it dumps into the Gulf of Mexico. It sits about five miles from the gulf. I saw gators, and dolphins, and manatees, oh my! I took an airboat tour through the mangrove tunnels and it was one of my favorite things I've done on a vacation.

River Wilderness Cabins

This is where I stayed on my trip. I would recommend it to others. It is right on Lake Placid which has at least one gator named Harold in it. I would have taken more pictures if the birds didn't look like they were going to attack my poor innocent drone.

McLeod Park

The small town park. I think it was pretty nice considering how small the population is here. Gotta get that tourism tax!
